Manchester to get UK's first FabLab
Manchester has been announced as the first city in the UK to get a FabLab.

Collaboration between Fablab Iceland and Norway
The Fablab in Vestmannaeyjar in Iceland started in July and August 2008. From the start of the preparation of founding the Fablab in Vestmannaeyjar, the Fablabbers in Norway have helped in preparing and setting up the Fablab, with technical assistance and training of the employees of the Fablab in Vestmannaeyjar. Ossur Skarphedinsson, minister of energy and industry in Iceland visited the Fablab in Vestmannaeyjar and had a discussion through Polycom system with Haakon Karlsen in Fablab Norway and spoke about the activities there.

I am thankfull to have spent another great week in the beautyfull MIT-FabLab Norway in Lyngen. It was teriffic to finally meet in person Neil, Thomas, Dani, Vicente, Frosti and Kenny, which I have only known from the Polycom. The Fablab is a great network, and I think it's important to meet up ones in a while in real space. It makes it stronger.
